According to Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, He said majority of Covid-19 cases in South Africa are mild. Mkhize says only 241 of the infected people across the country are currently in hospital, with just 36 patients in ICU.
The Health Minister also says 80% of those who test positive don’t need serious medical attention, and many can be treated at home. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 3,034. That’s an increase of 251.
Fifty-two people have died. Mkhize adds that over 100,000 tests have been conducted, mostly in the private sector. Gauteng remains the epicentre for the virus.
The minister announced these figures during a virtual media briefing yesterday. These are good news for South Africa and we might not need Bill Gates’ intervention. God is on our side. Responding to the good news, some had this to say:
@Zulu33Zulu After checking stats within the African Continent, this makes sense. South Africa’s death rate considering the high number of positive cases is not so bad. Recoveries are encouraging. Adherence to lockdown rules will help save lives, our health system will not get overwhelmed.
