Budget-friendly TCL 30 Z now available from AT&T and Cricket for less than $100

If you’re looking for a very cheap smartphone, you can’t go wrong going prepaid. Some of the best budget-friendly phones are available on prepaid at various US carriers, so it’s quite easy to find something that fits your needs and … wallet.

While looking for a cheap phone, you’ll no doubt stumble upon TCL, a brand that’s synonymous with “affordability.” In the last couple of weeks, the Chinese company launched no less than three products at various US carriers, including a kid-oriented tablet and two smartphones.

The most recent phone introduced in the US is the TCL 30 Z, an entry-level Android smartphone that’s now available on prepaid from AT&T and Cricket Wireless for less than $100. In fact, you can get this one for free if you’re willing to switch to Cricket. You can also pay just $30 at Cricket if you’re upgrading your phone or add a new number.

The AT&T version of TCL 30 Z is available from Walmart for just $60, a great price considering what the phone has to offer in terms of specs. Although the phone is available in Elegant Black and Slate Gray, you can only find the former at Walmart.

That said, let’s take a look at what the TCL 30 Z can do and whether or not it’s worth the $60 price that Walmart is asking.

  • 6.1-inch LCD HD+ V-Notch display with NXTVISION
  • 2GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor
  • 8MP rear camera, 5MP selfie
  • 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory (expandable up to 512GB via microSD)
  • Long-lasting 3000mAh battery
  • Face unlock
  • Android 12

Judging by the specs listed above, the TCL 30 Z is a standard entry-level smartphone that offers the basic features for a more than decent price. Even if it breaks after a year, it’s still a worthy investment at just $60 (or $30).
